Aero Senior Design Project

During my Senior Year in University, I was part of the Aero Senior Design Project, where I stepped up to be a team lead for the structures section of the project as well as leading the wing sub team, having over 10 members to manage.

We had to design a Remote Control (RC) Cargo Plane within specifications of the SAE Aero Competition through Solidworks, run simulation test for likely scenarios such as during cruising speed, looking up previous wind speed data history to ensure it would be able to survive heavy gust of wind and the likes.

While being during lock downs, limiting our access to resources at the university, we manage to mainly work outside of the university and use off the shelf tools, minus some 3D printers and home scaled CNC machines that a member had. This involved us being really integrated into the building process and we manage to meet deadlines and still create a prototype of the plane. Had to learn and use new programs such as Fusion 360 to create assembly files to be cut in the CNC machine.
